GE Foundation

The GE Foundation, the philanthropic organization of GE, is committed to transforming our communities and shaping the diverse workforce of tomorrow by leveraging the power of GE.

Over the past decade, the GE Foundation's key achievements include:

  • Increasing Access to Safe Surgery: Through Safe Surgery 2020, we supported partners and local implementers to train more than 2,900+ healthcare workers and increase access to safe surgical care in 58 health facilities across Africa and Southeast Asia.
  • Reducing Health Disparities: Through Project ECHO, we scaled the innovative telementoring model to 44 countries and trained 1.2MM providers to reduce health disparities in underserved and remote areas worldwide.
  • Supporting Response, Relief & Recovery: From Haiti to Houston, and India to Indonesia, we drew on ourGE’s people, technology and resources to respond to more than 30 major global and humanitarian crises around the globe, totaling $27MM.

In the UK in recent years the GE Foundation has funded ASDAN and My Future My Choice to develop and manage Build My Future  – an innovative programme for GE volunteers to support 13 and 14 year olds in considering the life balance needed for future happiness and success. This programme has now run in more than 20 schools close to GE locations.

The GE Foundation also made a significant donation to Project Enthuse, the largest ever opportunity for teachers of science to engage in high quality Continuing Professional Development at no cost.

In 2019, the entire GE family (including businesses, employees, retirees and the GE Foundation) contributed $80 million in total giving.
