Become a STEM Inspirer

A STEM Inspirer is a GE volunteer who aims to inspire the next generation to be the innovators of the future.   Volunteering may involve speaking at a careers fair, talking about your own career journey to a group of students or perhaps running an exciting project that teaches engineering skills.  Hundreds of GE UK employees are already taking part but we are always looking for more employee volunteers.

Together we can achieve our target of 40,000 career conversations each year.

You can sign up here to become a GE STEM Inspirer. We’ll help you with some basic training, guidance and opportunities to help you share your personal journey as well as GE’s insights about entry routes into different jobs.

Once registered, you’ll have access to a wealth of resources for young STEM enthusiasts, including new health, aviation and power activity challenges, a shared events calendar and a forum to share experiences.  You will also need to sign up to be a STEM Ambassador with our partner, STEM Learning.  This will ensure you have a DBS check and have additional safeguarding training.

When you have had a career conversation or completed a volunteer activity, remember to report it via our volunteer tracking tool. Otherwise it won't count toward the 40,000 target and we can't shout about your great work!

An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.
