STEM Outreach to schools. STEM workshops. Girls Get Set.

Why you volunteer
I love the feeling of having built a software application from scratch after overcoming the technical challenges I faced and seeing the impact of that software when others use it. I take a lot of pride and satisfaction in that and for me it one of the best feelings in the world. I volunteer to inspire and encourage others to pursue similar educational and career tracks because I also want them to have that feeling. Inspiring the younger generation into taking on STEM is in my opinion the way to enable innovation and new technologies in improving people’s lives. I also like to volunteer because as a kid, I always wished I had access to learning about the latest in technologies and having opportunities to develop and test my skills in computing and maths.

Favourite volunteer project
Programming and agile methodology workshops are my favourite volunteering activities as the participants leave with very handy skills that can be re-applied in so many different areas.

Fun fact:
When I’m not programming or playing sports to de-stress, I love to bake cakes, cookies, brownies and lot more very delicious treats.

Science knows no country, because knowledge belongs to humanity, and is the torch which illuminates the world.
